AUTHOR Charlie Higson will visit Hanley Castle High School near Malvern as part of a promotional tour for the final book in his popular The Enemy series.

The celebrity - famed for his role in television comedy The Fast Show - will give a talk to about 1,000 children from several schools on Wednesday, November 4, at 9.15am, followed by a book signing session.

His visit links to the "innovative work" of Worcestershire schools library service and its 'reading for pleasure' scheme, according to Worcestershire County Council.

Councillor Lucy Hodgson, cabinet member with responsibility for localism and communities, said: "We are really excited to have Charlie Higson making this visit to Worcestershire as part of his final book tour in this series.

"He is a successful author, writer, actor and comedian and thanks to the work of our schools' library service hundreds of school children will have this fantastic opportunity to listen to him speak and learn from his experience."

Mr Higson has written six bestselling thrillers in The Enemy series so far and the seventh and final instalment, titled The End, will be released on Thursday, October 29.
