A SOCIAL media campaign has been launched in Worcestershire to raise awareness of the things people can do to keep a healthy mind.

Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust is dedicating September as its Healthy Minds Month.

This month the trust will be raising awareness of support provided by its Healthy Minds Service, which helps people, aged 16 and over, who are experiencing more common mental health problems such as stress, anxiety and low mood which it is estimated affects around one in four of us.

The trust is encouraging people to use #worcshealthymindsmonth and upload photos to Facebook (Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust) or Twitter (@worcshealthcare) which show what they do to keep their minds healthy.

This could be things such as exercise, reading a book or getting creative.

Julie Evans, a clinical lead with the Healthy Minds service said: “Hopefully our month-long campaign will help people to see that things like stress, anxiety and low mood are very common. "Problems like this can be triggered by lack of sleep, pressure at work, money worries and life events that can affect any of us at any time.

“We want to get the message across throughout this campaign that there is support available locally through the Worcestershire Healthy Minds Service; let people know how it can be accessed and provide information about useful tools and techniques to help keep a healthy mind.”

If you would like to get involved and show your support then simply post your picture to the Trust’s Facebook or Twitter account using #worcshealthymindsmonth or you can email your image to communications@hacw.nhs.uk.
