A FUN dog show being held in Colwall next weekend promises and good day out for all the family - including canine chums.

The event is being held on Saturday, August 22, at Brockbury Hall in the village, starting at 4pm, and the aim is to raise money for the village church.

Dogs of every sort, from pedigrees to Heinz 57s will all be welcome, and there will be a range of fun classes for them to take part in.

These include best junior handler, best waggiest tail, agility course, best senior dog, dog most like its owner, best titbit catcher and best in show.

The entry for all classes begins at 4pm, with the classes starting at 5pm. Cream teas will be available for spectators, dog handlers and anyone who wants to enjoy a traditional summer afternoon.

Entry for the show is just £1 per adult, with under-16s getting in for free, and entry for the classes is £2.50. Car parking is free.

Steve Hockett, joint organiser of the event with Carol Evans, said: "This dog show is a true family affair, a wonderful afternoon out for dog owners and the dogs too.

"It’s a lot of fun, with a bit of friendly rivalry thrown in. Living as we do in the foothills of the Malvern Hills, dogs are such a part of so many of our lives and it’s great to be able to have our own celebration with our pets in such a beautiful setting."
