MALVERN Childline chairman Colin Butler is saying a special thank-you to all those who made the Malvern Mayor's Bonanza held recently a success.

The event, held at Priory Park, and featuring a host of musicians and other entertainers, raised £1,800 for the cause.

Colin Butler said: "Malvern and Three Counties Friends of ChildLine would like to thank mayor Julian l'Anson and all his staff for their support. It was a spectacular event and everyone worked really hard to make it a success.

"We would also like to thank the performers who kept us entertained throughout the day and the people of Malvern who gave their generous support. The £1,800 will help many children who are distressed or in danger by helping to fund the ChildLine service which answers their calls and online contacts in the West Midlands.

"We are really getting exceptional support from the town council and we would like to express this publicly."
