BUDDING young business stars will be pitching their products to the public at Webbs Garden Centre in Wychbold this Friday, (26th June.)

Sixty five young students in ten groups will be taking part in the Trade Fair which is being organized by Young Enterprise, the UK’s largest enterprise education charity.

Webbs Chairman, Ed Webb, said: “We work closely with Young Enterprise to help pupils learn and understand the retail business. I’m looking forward to meeting the teams and seeing their products. As a company Webbs is committed to supporting worthwhile local projects and is very happy to encourage these business entrepreneurs in the world of retail."

Primary pupils aged nine to 11 are taking part in the Young Enterprise project ‘Our Business’ where they learn "hands-on about business and enterprise by setting up and running a business over several weeks".

Schools taking part on the day include: Hallow Primary School, Worcester; St Bartholomew's, Stourport on Severn; Chaddesley Corbett Primary, Chaddesley; Heronswood Primary, Kidderminster; Anglesey Primary School, Burton upon Trent; Calthorpe Vocational Centre, Birmingham and Welcombe Hills Special School, Stratford upon Avon.

The Team Programme will "inspire students with special educational and support needs to set up and run their own real company, guided every step of the way by a Business Adviser.

And the Fiver Challenge, supported by Virgin Money, will encourage pupils "to set up mini businesses to create products they can sell".

The youngsters will be selling a variety of products from bird boxes and key rings to lanterns, planters, sweets and jewellery, and they will trade until 2pm on the day.
