A COLOURFUL fun run has been jointly organised by three hospices, following on from the success of an event earlier this year.

St Richard’s Hospice’s sell-out Rainbow Run has inspired the trio of hospices to give people a second chance to take part in a colourful running extravaganza.

St Richard’s has teamed up with Primrose Hospice and KEMP Hospice to organise a joint Rainbow Run on Sunday, September 6.

Registration is now open, with places for anyone aged eight or over.

In March, more than 700 people turned out to be showered in an explosion of coloured powder as they ran or walked a 5km course.

The event will be held at Top Barn Activity Centre in Holt Heath.

Runners are asked to turn up in their oldest and whitest sports kit and prepare to run, walk, skip or dance the route while getting showered with colours at every 1km point.

Tricia Cavell, fundraising director at St Richard’s Hospice, said: "We are delighted to be working with Primrose and KEMP Hospices on a joint event. "This means that the Rainbow Run will be open to participants who want to support their local hospice.

"It also offers us cost savings compared to setting up separate events, meaning that more of the money raised will go directly towards caring for patients."

Dogs are not allowed to participate and children aged 8-16 must be accompanied by an adult.

The event start will be staggered from 11am.
