WITH many cats still needing a caring home, an appeal is being launched to find them homes.
RSPCA Worcester & Mid-Worcestershire Branch is leading the call on behalf of older cats and black cats, both of which traditionally struggle to be selected for re-homing.
Cats from these two groups have been in care for a long time, as the RSPCA does not put healthy cats to sleep. This means, however, that the number of cats the charity looks after is ever increasing.
A spokeswoman for the branch, in Sansome Place, Worcester, said: "There are two groups who always seem to be overlooked - the Golden Oldies and the Black Beauties. Many have been with us since last year and so deserve loving homes.
"They deserve a home of their own as much as the younger cats. They are lovely cats and all have different personalities."
The branch provides financial help to ensure adopted cats are spayed and neutered.
