A GROUP of joggers made a run for a county pub to deliver funds to local volunteer lifesavers.
The Malvern Joggers made Worcester Community First Responders their nominated charity last year and raised £872 through a variety of events, including a 10km race.
Community First Responders are volunteers trained to respond to medical emergencies in their area.
Presenting the cheque at the start of their night’s run from the Old Bush in Callow End, Carl Flint, chairman of Malvern Joggers, said: “We really want to support a local organisation and thank goodness you guys are there because there are situations, luckily not ours, when you are needed and thanks for being available.”
Dave Harford, co-ordinator of the city’s Community First Responders, said: “We appreciate this generous donation which enables us to buy new kit and replace out-of-date equipment. In Worcester, Malvern and Upton we currently have 39 volunteers and it’s forever expanding."
