IT seemed for a while that Worcestershire County Council had discovered an extra day in April that no one else knew about.
A sign erected in Hanley Swan gave an advance warning of surface dressing to be carried out in Worcester Road, and stated the work would commence on April 30- and continue until April 32.
Reader Emily Sherris spotted the gaff, snapped it and sent into your Worcester News, which has been explained as a possible bit of wishful thinking, and the mistake has now been rectified.
Jon Fraser, of Worcestershire County Council highways, said: "This was possibly a bit of wishful thinking, it would have been nice to have an extra day to get more work done.
"The mistake has been rectified."
He confirmed the resurfacing work, which is part of the £3.95million county council highways' improvement scheme, will take place between Thursday, April 30 and Saturday, May 2, depending on weather conditions.
