A REPORTED sighting of a missing woman in Pershore has been discounted by police.
Officers’ investigations revealed the female spotted in the town on Friday (March 6) was not Monica Armstrong, of Weobley, near Hereford, who has been missing for seven days.
West Mercia Police are therefore renewing their appeal for information regarding the missing 63-year-old.
She has not been seen since midday on Tuesday, March 3, in Hereford. Her car, a black VW Polo, was found by police at Weir Gardens in Swainshill, Herefordshire, at about 11.40pm.
She is described as 5ft 5ins tall, of slight build with red-brown, collar-length hair in the style of a bob, and she is believed to be wearing a beige overcoat, trousers, a pink jumper with a high neck and grey walking boots.
She may also have been carrying a small, red-striped rucksack.
Police are growing increasingly concerned for her welfare.
West Mercia Police are asking members of the public to report any sightings of a woman matching her description to 101, quoting incident reference 579S030315.
