A PLAN to increase the height of a fence surrounding football pitches at Malvern Vale Community Centre has been narrowly approved by Malvern Hills councillors.
The application sought to double the height of the fence to 4.8 metres, to prevent footballs being kicked into private gardens.
Some residents supported the proposal, but others called the fence an eyesore.
At a meeting of Malvern Hills District Council's southern area development management committee, members voted 8-7 with one abstention to approve the taller fence.
