IT will be a crazy and colourful affair when the inaugural rainbow run comes to Worcester in aid of St Richard’s Hospice.

Participants will walk, run, skip, dance or even hop the five kilometre route – and will be showered with coloured powder along the way.

The event takes place on Sunday, March 15, and will raise money for the charity which supports patients with life-threatening illnesses.

Jodi Brandwood, community fundraiser at St Richard’s Hospice, said: “We are so excited to be able to offer this event for the first time in Worcester.

“It’s a very different kind of challenge to any we have previously offered and is proving very popular with over 300 already signed up.

“The day is also Mother’s Day and so offers an ideal opportunity for people to take part in a fun activity with their mother or in memory of their mother or grandmother.”

RCA Regeneration, a regeneration and planning consultants based in Droitwich, have sponsored the event and St Richard’s Hospice is offering further sponsorship opportunities to other local businesses.

The event will take place at Top Barn Activity Centre, with registration opening at 9am for an 11am start.

Early registration is recommended to avoid disappointment. Entry is £15 for adults and £12 for 13 to 16-year-olds, with a minimum sponsorship of £25 per person.
