THE October meeting listened to a talk given by local member Angus McCulloch called To Broken Hill and Back.

He recounted the exciting career of a family member who, having been made bankrupt in Glasgow, went to Australia in the late 1800swhere he made his fortune. Eventually he retired to London where he became a collector of Victorian art. Angus was lucky enough to find many photographs from Australia and Victorian London to illustrate his talk.

The next meeting is on November 5 when Mike Wallace will give his talk called Songs and Humour of the war years.

New members and visitors will be most welcome.
