POLICE are seeking information about graffiti which was sprayed on the toposcope at the summit of the Worcestershire Beacon two weeks ago.
Walkers on the Malvern Hills on Sunday, October 12, were dismayed that tags had been sprayed in red paint on the marble plinth surrounding the monument.
The scrawls appear to be the names Marc and Baz, and the police want to hear from anyone who recognises the tags or has information about the perpetrators.
The graffiti has now been removed by Malvern Hills Conservators, and director Stephen Bound confirmed this week that no permanent damage has been cause to the toposcope, which was installed to mark Queen Victoria's diamond jubilee in 1897.
Anyone with information is urged to call police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident number 141s/151014.
