PLANS which aim to help more people start up a business from home have received the backing of MP Harriett Baldwin.
The West Worcestershire MP has praised the Government's long-term economic plan, which is committed to helping entrepreneurs to create new jobs.
Seven out of ten businesses start out at home, and the new measures make it easier for people to set up a business working from home.
Business Minister Matthew Hancock announced the new measures which will make it easier for people to run a business from a rented home, as well as updating planning guidance and ensuring that these start-ups don’t have to pay business rates.
MP Baldwin said: “Most of the big businesses in my constituency started out on someone’s kitchen table, in a spare bedroom or garage.
“It is important that we create the right conditions to allow the next generation of entrepreneurs to give it a go and set up a home-based business.
“The increase of internet trading and improved broadband connections mean there has never been a better time to take the leap.
“There are also great measures to help small businesses take on new staff or apprentices and I look forward to seeing the next generation of successful new businesses emerging over the coming years.”
