A PUBLIC consultation is being held over plans to create a new customer contact centre and police station at Upton Library.
Under plans submitted by Malvern Hills District Council, Worcestershire County Council and West Mercia Police the library would be extended by 127 sq metres and completely refurbished.
The contact centre would be similar to the one at Malvern library, allowing customers to pay charges, view plans, report problems and get advice on issues such as council tax and housing benefit.
West Mercia Police have expressed an interest in relocating to the library, but that would depend on the sale of Upton's existing police station.
County and district council officers will answer questions during the consultation, which takes place from 10am-2pm on Friday, January 26.
