AN INSPIRING range of innovative work by Dyson Perrins pupils studying a range of subjects went on display at the school for a public exhibition.

Visitors were invited to take a look at the coursework by young people taking GCSEs and A Levels in art, resistant materials and product design.

There were also pieces from young people studying BTEC Levels two and three from both art and textiles.

It is the first time that all five courses have joined together to put on a big exhibition and the evening was so successful the school hopes to make it an annual event.

Headteacher Stuart Wetson viewed the exhibition before the public unveiling and called the quality of work and presentation "amazing”.

He also thanked staff for their effort in setting up the evening as well as helping the students to produce such superb work.

Talented year nine pupil Freya Donaldson photographed the event which was catered for by a group of year ten students including Jessica Fenwick, Emily Barron, Lucy Nelson, Kathryn Powell, Tom Evans and Megan Carter.

In response to suggestions on the evening of the exhibition, Dyson Perrins is now looking into displaying some of the larger pieces of coursework as art installations.

Textiles teacher Gemma Lawrence, one of the exhibition coordinators, thanked all the students and staff who helped to contribute to the evening which she said was a resounding success thanks to the teamwork of all those involved.
