A PERVERT from Worcester who tried to groom a 13-year- old girl for sex has been given a suspended prison sentence after he was fooled by a fake online profile set up by a ‘paedophile hunter’.

In a series of sickening messages Anthony Milnes, aged 25, arranged to meet the girl, who he believed was 13, in Tamworth.

When the decoy originally told him she was 13 years old, Milnes was not deterred and said: “I’m cool with your age (smiley face) just keep it quite (sic) what you doing tonight?

“Could you get bus to Tamworth and you can sleep at mine tonight?? xx”

The evidence against him was supplied by Stinson Hunter and his team, who use dating/ friendship websites to track down sexual predators using fake profiles before continuing contact on mobile phones.

Milnes was sentenced to two years in prison, suspended for two years, for attempting to cause/incite a girl 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity when he appeared at Stafford Crown Court on June 10.

He was also placed under 24 months of supervision, ordered to attend a community sex offenders programme as directed and sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for ten years.

Milnes arranged to meet the underage girl, who he believed was 13, at an address at Nuneaton, and a video shows him popping his head around the door before he flees from the camera crew.

When the decoy originally told him she was 13 years old, Milnes was not deterred and said: “I’m cool with your age (smiley face) just keep it quite (sic) what you doing tonight?

Could you get bus to Tamworth and you can sleep at mine tonight?? xx”

He also asks her intimate questions about her body, tells her what he would like to do to her sexually and asks her to send pictures of herself.

He wrote: “your (sic) hot and I would still get with you” and “would you mind losing your virginity to me?”

A former friend of Milnes who was shocked to discover what he had been doing, said: “He’s a monster. It is sickening, vulgar and disgusting.”

A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: “We can confirm that Anthony Milnes, aged 25, was charged with attempting to cause/ incite a girl 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity following an investigation by Staffordshire Police and he appeared at Stafford Crown Court on 10/6/14.
