POLICE are hoping to spread the word about cycle safety with a competition on Twitter.
All cyclists have to do is send a picture of themselves wearing all their road cycling safety gear via Twitter.
Safer Neighbourhood Team Inspector Helen Wain said: "Officers and PSCOs are nationally aiming to educate and enforce where appropriate a road safety message to help keep cyclists and their equipment safe, the general message being to reduce road casualties and crime.
"We are currently targeting a spate of cycle thefts in the city and to tackle to road safety element we are running a competition on Twitter (@WorcesterCops) for cyclists to send us a picture of themselves wearing their cycle safety gear. At the end of the month we will draw a winner at random, and they will receive a shiny new adult and child's cycle helmet, thanks to The Green Bike Company (Bromyard Rd)."
The closing date for the competition is Saturday, May 31.
