THERE was a small but select line-up at the Brewers Arms on Sunday for the colourful Easter Bonnet Parade. Competitors were of all ages and from far and wide, though it was perhaps disappointing that there were not more local entrants to parade before the expert eye of judge and jack-of-all-trades Will Ekins. The winner was young Isabelle Morgan from Malvern Wells, second prize going to Birmingham granny Maureen Lloyd, with local lass Zara Coleman coming third. The Easter Egg Hunt kept the junior brigade busy, as the Easter Bunny (aka churchwarden David Matthews!) had done a good job of concealing the objects of desire!

Local boy and renowned blues artist Matt Woosey comes to the West Malvern Social Club this evening (April 25) from 9pm with his unique brand of home grown blues. Entry £3, all welcome.

Britain’s best-known living playwright will all also be in the village soon through one of his 78 plays, brought to life by the West Malvern Players. Friday and Saturday, May 9 and 10 are the dates to note for their presentation of Alan Ayckbourn's comedy Intimate Exchanges. An excellent evening’s entertainment is assured and early booking (adults £5, kids £3) is advised – ring Sue and David Matthews on 567328 to be sure of your seat.
