AN AUDIT of voters in the Malvern Hills showed there are 59,993 people registered to vote in the district.

More than 97 per cent of households in the district responded to this year’s annual audit of electors, up two per cent from last year.

Electoral registration officer Chris Bocock said: “I’m pleased that we managed to increase the registration response rate in the district this year.

“2014 sees not only the European Parliamentary Election taking place on May 22 but also the introduction of Individual Voter Registration across England and Wales from June onwards.

“It’s important that anyone who has moved since responding to the last annual registration form or who has moved into the district since February updates their registration.”

Voter registration forms can be obtained by calling 01684 862 200 or from malvernhills.gov.uk/elections.
