Beast and Beauty opens gallery for 2014

AN atmosphere of excitement gripped a gallery as a gathering of celebrated and talented British artists marked its reopening.
Blue-ginger gallery and café in Cradley, near Malvern, opened its doors for 2014 with the launch of its new exhibition, entitled Beast and Beauty, on Saturday, March 22.
Their motivated by fairytales and folklore, animals and the land, while Herefordshire was represented by maker of fabric curiosities Kathleen Murphy, blacksmith Claudia Petley and stained glass illustrator Tamsin Abbott.
Others came from as far afield as Scotland and Cornwall, and the exhibition runs until Sunday, May 11.
Sue Lim from the gallery said: “Over 140 people came to visit us on Saturday and there was definitely a sense of excitement at blue-ginger’s reopening for regular customers, as well as delight at discovering the gallery for the first time for others.
"People from Bath and Cumbria, Hereford and Worcester. The atmosphere in the gallery was fantasic - it was buzzing."
Kathleen Murphy will be holding a textile evening workshop on how to make a fly felt fox on Thursday, April 3.
