A TEENAGER has died after getting into trouble in a lake at a countryside park in Worcestershire.

Emergency services were called to the Arrow Valley Countryside Centre near Redditch at about 12.20pm yesterday (Sunday) after a three teenage boys were reported in trouble in the water.

Two were quickly rescued but the third was not found for nearly two hours, and although resuscitation was attempted and the boy was taken to hospital, he was later pronounced dead.

The boy was later named by police as Richard Fellows, aged 15, a school student, from the Brock Hill area of Redditch.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Two teenage boys were recovered from the water and treated for minor injuries by ambulance staff. They were later discharged to the care of parents at the scene.

"The specialist Hazardous Area Response Team team were in wet suits and joined other emergency services in a search of the water for nearly two hours.

"A third teenager was eventually located and brought to safety where medics commenced immediate resuscitation and advance life support.

“The patient was taken by ambulance to Alexandra Hospital in Redditch. “The hospital was alerted to the serious condition of the patient. A doctor travelled to the hospital with the patient and crew.

“It is understood that the patient was later confirmed deceased at the hospital.”
