ASPIRING journalists can cut their teeth at a mock police press conference.
The conference is scheduled to take place at the Malvern Suite, Worcester Police Station, Castle Street, on Friday, March 28 between 10am and 1.30pm.
Inspector Allie Webster said: "I am working with Rachel Ammonds, Journalism lead at Worcester University. Up to 45 first year journalism students are attending to be "press" in a paper feed exercise. I have two Inspectors who will be fielding questions. Essentially it is learning for the students on what questions to ask etc and learning for us on being in the chair at a press conference." Toby Shergold, a force media and communications officer for West Mercia Police, will be running the event on the day. The students will also get a tour of Worcester Police Station and an introduction from Supt MarkTravis.
