Keep the family entertained with half-term activities at Worcester Cathedral

First published in News

ALL the family will be kept entertained at Worcester Cathedral during the half-term holiday.

The free hands-on activities will be delivered by the cathedral's education department on Tuesday, February 18 from 10.30am to 12.30pm and 2pm to 4pm.

Families can make clay gargoyles to take away inspired by some of the uglier stone carvings in the cathedral or help create a large flower collage, with donations invited to cover the cost of materials.

From Saturday, February 15 to Saturday, February 22, there will be safari trail around the church so children can hire a safari back pack containing binoculars to spy on the different animals or fruit and flowers.

The cathedral's assistant education officer, Sara Hayward, said: “The trails are designed to introduce children to different aspects of the cathedral and make them aware of aspects they may otherwise not have noticed.

"We have a pink giraffe here and also pomegranates to find. They are easy to follow and include opportunities to draw as well as word puzzles and jokes.”
