A GROUP of history buffs from Malvern are planning to visit one of the major battle sites of World War II in Europe.
Malvern U3A’s Military History Group will be paying a visit this May to the Ardennes, where the Battle of the Bulge was fought in 1944.
The visit is on May 11-16, and the U3A party will be staying at La Gleize, and visiting nearby towns and museums by coach.
Attached to the hotel they are staying at is the gourmet restaurant Le Vert de Pommier where the party will take its meals.
In preparation for the visit, Malcolm Delingpole of Malvern U3A will show a short video about the battle on Friday, February 7, at 10am at Manor Park Sports Club, Malvern.
This will be followed by five talks on the campaign by Alan Gray, on March 7 and 14, April 4, and May 2 and 9.
Mr Delingpole said: "There are a few places left on the trip if there's anyone who wants to join us." Anyone interested can contact malc.delingpole@tiscali.co.uk.
