Woman is robbed in alley by teenagers
TWO teenage girls attacked and robbed a woman in a Malvern alley.
The girls stole a wallet with about £80 cash in the robbery, which took place in the alley between Cales Avenue and Leigh Sinton Road.
They approached the woman at about 1.30pm on Saturday, December 7, grabbed hold of her and demanded that she give up her wallet.
They took the wallet and ran off towards Cales Avenue. The woman was not injured in the incident.
The two girls are described as being aged 14 to 15, about 5ft 4ins tall and slim.
One had long blonde hair and was wearing a white top, dark trousers and ballet pumps.
The other had brown hair which was tied up and was wearing white trainers, a dark top, dark leggings and fluorescent yellow gloves.
Police said: “This is an isolated incident and robberies like this are rare in Malvern, with only eight taking place across the Malvern Hills area since the beginning of April.
“Robberies in the district are down by a third compared to the same period last year and we remain committed to solving them, with solved rates more than doubling this year compared with the previous year.”
Officers are keen to hear from anyone who saw the pair in the area around the time of the offence.
Anyone with information can call police on 101, quoting incident number 390S 071213. A teenage girl arrested in connection with the offence has been released on police bail.
