HOP Pickers are ending the first-half of the Brewin Dolphin Table Tennis League season well in the lead in the third division and not just because they are the only team to have completed all their fixtures.

Dynamoes fought well against the tough opposition and Viv Tolley took Nick Haggar to a fifth game, which she only lost by three points and Collette James took a game from Richard Cullis. Out of their two games Richard won all his singles and both the doubles.

Against Abbeydowne three sets went to five games and another four to three. Fifteen of the 40 games played were won by just two points and another four by three points. Peter Denniss won two and Bill Lucas one for Abbeydowne and Nick Haggar two and Ade Haggar one for Hop Pickers.

X-Police and the Allsorts clash usually sees Steve Mulka of X-Police play against his son, James of the Allsorts. This time it was James' turn to win and he also beat Alan Holes. Craig Preece continued on his winning way with three wins. Malcolm Dalley won two and Alan Holmes and Steve Mulka one each for X-Police and Steve and Malcolm won the doubles.
