A CARE home in Malvern is preparing to offer a warm welcome and a friendly face to older people in the community who need a little company.
Following recent reports highlighting the problem of loneliness among older people, staff and residents at Bupa’s The Springs Nursing and Residential Home are set to put the kettle on and go baking mad in preparation for a special jazz-themed ‘communi-tea’ party which will take place at the home on Wednesday, April 17, from 2pm.
As part of the event at the Spring Lane home, the Miniature Concert Band has been invited to play.
Home manager Stephen Whitfield said: “Everyone knows that there is nothing better than a friendly cuppa to bring people together and encourage a chinwag, and our residents and local community are no exception.
"So we want as many people as possible to come along, have a good time, and make new friends over a brew and a piece of cake.”
