Here we go another marathon, well, not quite. We left Luxemburg via the motorway, it being the quickest way out of the duchy. We took the A13 and A8 to junction 3, then took the 407 which turned out to be the Huns rack Hohne Strasse.

Many miles on was an abbey of the same name. I assume it was a pilgrim’s way. Across this range of hills west of the Rhine there were many wind farms. 90 per cent of them were working. We crossed the Rhine on a small ferry to Lorch then continued the up the Wispertal.

Today we have tried to make the most of the good weather and take photos of the area. We found a gem purely by chance on the way to the ferry across the Rhein to Lorch. A Unesco World Heritage Site at Munbach. It was like time had stopped still. The houses were preserved as they were back in the 1700s. Also the village once had gas lamps although now converted.

Petrol Head Report.
