AFTER a lot of effort to preserve the Victorian spa image, barely a week passes without a developer promising to build a new area of housing paradise.
Many ofthese will resemble Milton Keynes, using Malvern to make money, supported by a foolish government trying to find houses for far too many illegal immigrants.
This country has some dreadful city areas, but also has some ofthe most beautiful rural areas in the world and to despoilthem by insisting onhousebuilding on an arbitrary basis decided by numbers and not by local needs is vandalism, particularly when suitable infrastructure will not be feasible as on the Malvern hills surroundings.
I suggest that local councillors should resist orders from Westminster and take independent views.
