A FEMALE pedestrian has been airlifted to hospital after she was hit by a car in Worcester.
The incident happened shortly after 8am outside Nunnery Wood High School and led to the closure of Spetchley Road.
A spokesman for West Mercia Police said the woman, aged in her 50s, had been airlified to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham with 'serious injuries' including a head injury where she is in a stable condition.
The car involved was a Vauxhall Zafira. Police are appealing for witnesses and those with information should call 101 and quote reference 75S10/12/12.
The road has since reopened.
