A BBC sitcom is being reproduced by a Droitwich theatre group this week.

The popular 1980’s TV show Hide- Hi, set in Maplins Holiday Camp and made famous by the likes of Ruth Madoc and Paul Shane is being staged by the Norbury Players.

Focusing on the lives of the camp’s management and entertainers, the play hinges on the relationship between comedy duo Ted and Spike while chalet maid Peggy pursues her dream of becoming a yellowcoat, a twist on the iconic Butlin’s redcoats.

Described as a sSpring pantomime for all ages, director Tony Catchpowle said: “The yellowcoats will take you through the comical events of a week at Maplins Holiday Camp.

“This show is not to be missed.”

The show started at the Norbury Theatre in Friar Street on Thrusday and ran until Saturday and then again from April 26-28.

Tickets cost £10 and £9 for concessions.

They can be booked on 01905 770 154 or via the website NorburyTheatre.co.uk.
