DYNASTY star Kate O’Mara will be treading the boards in Malvern in Agatha Christie’s classic thriller Murder on the Nile.

On board a steamer cruising under the scorching Egyptian sun, honeymooners Simon Mostyn and his wealthy socialite wife Kay find themselves being pursued by an old flame of the new groom.

When a body is discovered, all fingers point to Simon’s ex-fiancée but things are not what they seem and holidaying cleric Canon Pennefather is drawn into a web of intrigue and deceit as he finds himself on the trail of a ruthless murderer.

Now in its seventh year, the Agatha Christie Theatre Company presents a new production of Murder on the Nile at Malvern Theatres from Monday, March 26.

Alongside O’Mara, the show stars Denis Lill, from ITV drama The Royal and Doctor Who, Susie Amy, star of 71 Degrees North and Footballers’ Wives, Chloe Newsome, Coronation Street’s Vicky McDonald, Ben Nealon, Capt Jeremy Forsythe from ITV drama Soldier Soldier and 60s pop idol, Mark Wynter.

Agatha Christie’s stage adaptation of the novel Death on the Nile was first performed in 1944 under the title Hidden Horizon and later opened in the West End and on Broadway as Murder on the Nile in 1946.

This latest instalment from the Agatha Christie Theatre Company is directed by Joe Harmston.

Murder on the Nile is at Malvern Theatres between Monday and Saturday, March 26-31. Tickets from £22.
