Alan Carr has discovered he bears a striking resemblance to Gemma Collins after dressing up as the Towie star.
The comedian posted a picture on Twitter of himself in a blonde wig plaited into pigtails and a green shirt, like The Only Way Is Essex regular Gemma wore during her very brief stint on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!
The Chatty Man star dressed up as the reality TV star for a sketch on his Channel 4 show – a spoof documentary called 24 Hours in Celebrity Police Custody.
The clip saw Alan as Gemma, who having spent a “long and harrowing” 56 seconds in police custody, finds herself at breaking point, having eaten her mattress and pillow from sheer starvation, and who has been driven so mad she even confesses to preferring rival structured reality show Made In Chelsea.
But Essex girl Gemma saw the funny side when she appeared on Alan’s chat show and she posed for a snap with the comic, joking they could be brother and sister.
And Alan didn’t stop at dressing up as Gemma.
He also posed as X Factor judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini for the sketch.
He also gave his best impression of Benefits Street star Dee Kelly, aka White Dee.
The sketch will air as part of Alan Carr’s New Year Specstacular on Channel 4 on Thursday December 31 at 9pm.
