A Malvern bakery has caused a stir in Worcester city centre.

Three Bears Bakery was among the stalls taking part in Worcester Market today - and had dozens of people queuing up to sample its sweet treats.

The cakes proved so popular that by lunchtime, only a few were left - despite the stall being stocked with more treats than usual.

Emma Thomas was looking after the stall today on behalf of her sister Nicky Riley, who runs the business.

“We’ve been regulars at the market for over a year now and this is usually the response that we get,” said Emma.

“We have a really loyal local following. If we started to go further afield, it probably would be quite different.”

Three Bears Bakery, which is based in Hanley Swan, also attends Great Malvern Farmers’ Market once a month.

“We pride ourselves in using locally-sourced ingredients and everything is made just up the road in Hanley Swan,” said Emma.

“We bought extra stuff today - we knew we’d be busy because we haven’t been in Worcester since before Christmas, and people have not disappointed us.”
