The market, now in its fourth year, is organised by Boffy Arts Events People with support from Malvern Hills District Council.

Businesses from around the country have been shortlisted across eight different categories, including Rising Star Award, which celebrates newcomers to the industry, Large Farm Shop of the Year, Farm Café/Restaurant of the Year, and PYO (Pick Your Own) of the Year.

Cllr Daniel Walton, portfolio holder for tourism and economic development at Malvern Hills District Council, said: “We are delighted to hear that this much-loved market has been shortlisted for Farmers’ Market of the Year.

“We are really lucky to have such an important regular event in our town, not only does it encourage residents and visitors to shop local and support our local traders, but it also showcases some of the best home-grown produce in the district.”

Steve Boffy, from Boffy Arts Events People, said: “We are extremely proud to be shortlisted again for this prestigious award.

“My wife and I have worked hard to create a market that celebrates quality produce of the highest standard.

“We have a great team of local traders and enjoy the support of Malvern shoppers and visitors alike.

“It is quite daunting to be in the top three farmers markets nationally, and while we would love to win the award, we are just pleased that our efforts are being recognised and we can fly the flag for Malvern.”

The farmers' market takes place on the third Saturday of every month, usually by in the grounds of Great Malvern Priory and when the weather is poor, in the Lyttelton Rooms in Church Street.
