FORMER Worcester Wolves assistant coach Danny Magee has followed Paul James to Plymouth Raiders for the 2018-19 British Basketball League campaign.

Magee worked alongside James at Wolves for the past couple of seasons and recently achieved a first class honours degree in sports coaching science at the University of Worcester.

But he now taken up Raiders' offer to be full-time lead assistant coach and analyst.

“I am extremely excited to have accepted this position and am ready to embark on this journey with the Raiders," Magee said.

“The club directors have articulated a vision to evolve, something I am looking forward to actualise and be apart of.

“This is a unique opportunity, it comes with expectations, of which I am ready to embrace."

Whilst at Worcester Magee also coached the BUCS men's thirds and in his final season in charge he led the team to a first place finish and promotion.

James, who left Wolves in late June to become Plymouth boss, added: "I’ve had Danny a long side me for the last couple of seasons at my former club and he is a very talented, intelligent up and coming young coach.

“We have worked together exceptionally well of the past couple of seasons and have an understanding of how we want the game to be played and in that, how we are going to achieve that.

“For me Danny was clear and obvious choice to have as my lead assistant coach and analyst."
