EXPERIENCED power forward Alex Navajas has left Worcester Wolves to join French club L'union Lourdes-Tarbes Pyrenees Basket.

Navajas spent two seasons at Worcester following his move from Spanish second division side Marin in 2016.

During his time at Wolves, the 31-year-old established himself as a regular in the side, making 65 appearances in the British Basketball League.

The Spaniard also stepped in to skipper Wolves after Ashton Khan's departure in December and led the team out in the BBL Cup final, losing to Cheshire Phoenix at the Arena Birmingham.

Wolves posted a message on Twitter, saying: "Alejandro Navajas has chosen to move to Union Tarbes-Lourdes of France NM1 for the 2018-19 season.

"We want to thank him for everything that he has done for the club over the last two seasons and wish him all the best."

Wolves are also looking for a new head coach after Paul James ended his eight-and-a-half year reign to become Plymouth Raiders boss.
