WORCESTER Warriors' former England under-20 lock James Scott has signed an extension to his contract to keep him at Sixways.

The 21 year old is currently out on loan with Glasgow Warriors in the PRO14 and featured off the bench in their game at home to Ulster last month.

Scott is yet to feature for Worcester this season but did make the squad for their trip to Pau in the European Challenge Cup at the end of last year but was an unused substitute.

He has come through the ranks at Warriors and gradated from the academy into the senior squad ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.

The former Malvern College student made his debut in 2018 and has since made eight first team appearances. He has since spent time out on loan with Luctonians and Hartpury RFC in the Championship.

Scott follows his flat-mate Joe Morris, who signed a contract extension on Monday, in extending his stay at Sixways.

“Joe and myself had a lot of talks in our flat about what we wanted to do and staying at the club seemed like a no-brainer,” Scott said.

“Being able to experience a different club atmosphere and coaching style up at Glasgow has been brilliant for me personally, it’s enabled me to pick up new tips and ideas for my own game.

“I’ve been at Worcester for almost four years now and there’s been a lot of change during that time, but it seems that there is now a focus on retention and building a squad for the future.

“There has been a real buy-in from the squad since the new coaches came in, we’re building a good group of players and beginning to see a quality culture developing, which I’m enjoying being part of.”
