THERE are reports circling that Worcester's Francois Hougaard is set to return home to South Africa at the end of this season.

The 32-year old scrum-half has been linked with a move to Japan, but now it is being rumoured that he has agreed a deal to bring Hougaard back to the club by coach Jake White, accoring to Rugby Pass.

Hougaard spent eight seasons with the Super Rugby franchise between 2008 and 2015, and his return would be a major boost for White’s increasingly star-laden squad.

It would be a big loss to the Warriors as he is a player who adds a wealth of international experience to this young Worcester side.

The scrum half's current contract runs until the end of this season, after agreeing to an extension back in 2018 but now it looks likely that his stay at Sixways is coming to an end.
