THE Rugby Paper have reported that Worcester Warriors are interested in bringing Scotland and Edinburgh loosehead prop Rory Sutherland to Sixways ahead of next season.

The 28 year old is well renowned for his ball carrying skills and scrummaging ability, which has seen him capped three times for his country.

It will be the second Edinburgh player that Worcester have been linked with in recent weeks, after The Rugby Paper also reported that Warriors have" agreed a deal" to bring the powerful winger, Duhan van der Merwe, to the club next season on a £300K per season contract.

The Scottish club are supposedly feeling the financial affects of coronavirus and have already lost fly-half Adam Hastings to Gloucester Rugby for next season.

Warriors are reported to be saving their pennies for front-row options and the addition of Sutherland would be a more than welcomed asset to add to their ranks.

There were other rumours swirling last week that Warriors half-back dup Francois Hougaard and Duncan Weir could be off at the end of the season.

Wales Online hinted that Worcester might well be after Cardiff Blues and Welsh fly-half Jarod Evans as a replacement.
