WORCESTER Warriors wing Josh Adams has retained his place in Wales’ squad for the upcoming autumn internationals.

The 23-year-old ace has yet to hit the lofty heights of last season when he finished as the Premiership’s top try-scorer.

But Adams impressed in Wales’ summer tour to Argentina and crossed the whitewash for the first time this term in Warriors’ recent 52-7 thrashing of Bristol Bears.

Due to an agreement between Premiership clubs Adams will among several England-based players unavailable to play in Wales’ clash with Scotland at the Principality Stadium on November 3 as it takes place outside of World Rugby’s three-week international window.

But he will be eligible to feature in Tests against Australia (November 10), Tonga (November 17) and South Africa (November 24).

His inclusion in 37-man squad also means will miss Warriors’ Premiership battle with Harlequins at Sixways on Friday, November 23.

Wales head coach Warren Gatland has selected two uncapped players in Ospreys’ wing Luke Morgan and Leicester Tigers’ utility back Jonah Holmes who will report for training on October 22.

"This autumn is the start of a 12-month countdown to the Rugby World Cup and it is a huge opportunity for the players," Gatland said.

"The players who performed and represented Wales so well in the summer deserve the opportunity again and we are really pleased with the depth we have built across the squad.

"We have added in a lot of experience with eight British & Irish Lions coming into the squad so there is a lot of competition for places.

"Some experienced players have missed out, the message to them is the door isn't closed looking long term, it’s just a reflection of where we are depth wise and the opportunity to look at other players.”
