PRE-season draws to a close for Malvern Town this weekend as the new campaign draws closer.

Town play two games on the same day this weekend, with Westbury the visitors to the HDAnywhere Community Stadium this Saturday.

Malvern's senior development side kicks off against Westbury Utd reserves at 11.30 on Saturday, with the first team playing the Westbury firsts later in the day at 3pm.

Pre-season has gone largely to plan for the Hillsiders, with just a single defeat at home to Hereford and wins over Newent, Stourport Swifts and Bewdley.

Saturday's opponents Westbury finished one place above Malvern last season, with the game presenting a good challenge for both sides.

Tickets can be bought for Saturday's action, with the price including entry to both games.

The club's new main entrance will be in action for the game, with adults costing £7, concessions £4 and free for under-14s accompanied by a paying adult.

Last time out, Malvern Town battled out a 3-2 victory at Bewdley Town on a warm evening next to the river.

Town started the game on the front-foot and were rewarded with 20 minutes on the clock when Louis Loader played through Ben Hayes who slotted home.

The lead was doubled six minutes later when Jack Horrell crossed invitingly and Matt Turner was on hand to head home.

Another goal almost came soon after when Loader’s chip hit the angle of post and bar before our hosts pulled a goal back through to former Malvern Town player Kyonn Evans.

The second half saw chances at a premium at either end until the home side were able to seize upon a lack of concentration to level matters through Worthington.

As both sides searched for a winner, Keiron Blackburn made a couple of smart saves before Horrell set up Luke Payne to fire home what proved to be the winning goal.

Town kick off their league campaign at home against Westfields on August 2 at 7.45pm.

Following this, there is a local derby in the cup hosting Worcester City on August 6.
