HARRY Clark starred for Malvern Town as they made it four wins on the spin with a comfortable 2-0 win over fellow play-off rivals Bradford Town on Saturday.

The Hillsiders moved into fifth place in the Hellenic League Premier and just a point off second placed Cribbs as goals from Clark and Ben Hayes secured all three points.

It could have been more had it not been for Bradford’s keeper Darren Chitty, who made a number of brilliant stops to keep his side in it.

Keiron Blackburn also made a few crucial saves and Bradford’s Will Taylor hit the post in the first-half but Malvern eventually proved too much for their opponents.

Taylor hitting the post and Chitty making a few good saves from a deflected Dave Reynolds shot and Joe Bates’ free-kick was as close as either came to an opener in the first 45 minutes.

After the break it was all Malvern but it took until the 66th minute to find the opener as Clark turned in Bates’ volley.

Malvern's chances were heightened further when Rich Dawley was sent-off after an off the ball incident led to his dismissal.

A deserved second goal then came when Clark was allowed to advance into the Bradford box before his deflected strike found substitute Ben Hayes who turned the loose ball home with his first touch.

Somehow Town failed to add to their lead with five minutes to go when Hayes, Turner and Josh Beadle, on his home debut, were all denied and then an acrobatic effort from Clark was gathered by the keeper.

As the chances continued to mount up, Joe Bullock fired over from the edge of the area but it mattered not as The Hillsiders claimed another vital three points.
