MALVERN Town's slide down the Hellenic League Premier table showed no sign of slowing down last weekend after they were thumped 4-1 at Westbury United.

James Timmins put the visitors ahead but Daniel Price equalised just after the half-hour mark before Harvey Flippance put Westbury ahead three minutes later.

Samuel Jordan made it three on the hour before Joe Stradling rubbed salt into Malvern's wounds late on to seal the win.

The damaging defeat means The Hillsiders have now lost four league games on the spin and sit five points outside the play-off places down in ninth position.

Having already lost three in a row, Malvern came into their fixture with play-off contenders Westbury needing a response and they got it after 24 minutes when defender James Timmins nodded home the opener from a corner to give Town the lead.

That lead did not last very long as Price powered home for the equaliser before Flippance turned home to make it 2-1 shortly after.

Into the second-half and Malvern had to chase the game and were causing problems but they fell further behind in the 60th minute when Jordan stabbed home after a melee in the box.

Kyonn Evans and Adam Sauntson forced saves from the home keeper but they could not find a route back into the game and the result was sealed two minutes from time when Stradling finished off a counter attack move.
