YOUNGER Malvern Triathlon Club members are catching the eye.

Eva Holden claimed second in the Chateau de Chantilly Castle Triathlon Series' eight to 10 years girls' race and sixth overall in the juniors.

Malachi Cashmore was competing for the West Midlands at the School Games National Finals and was 19th individual competitor.

He took the anchor leg in the mixed relay and helped his team to bronze medals.

Cashmore's performance earned a place at the British Triathlon Youth and Junior Super Series Finals at Mallory Park on September 15 and 16.

Abi Senior raced at St Neots Standard Distance Triathlon and was first in her under 20s category to earn a place at the European Championships next year.

For adult competitors, Keith Evans won the Dirty Duathlon in Cannock by one minute 45 seconds.

At Wombourne Sprint Triathlon, David Dutton arrived first home for Malvern in one hour seven minutes 24 seconds followed by John Bryan (1.09.00) and Bill Adsett (1.09.10).

Leading for the women was Heather Kirk in 1.16.23 with third in the veterans' category followed by Lorraine Brooks in fourth in 1.18.00.

Janet Adsett’s 1.19.12 achieved second in the super veteran category.

She was followed by Scott Hawkins (1.21.29) and Clive Brooks (1.30.07).

Members also competed in the Cotswold Lake 62 Standard Distance Triathlon with Wayne Gualter third in the super veteran category in 2.30.39 followed by Helen Robson (3.12.42) and Janice Wallace (3.14.50).

Maria Dineen competed alongside 505 other long-distance swimmers in the Coniston Water 5.25-mile event, finishing in 3.02.49

Brooks has been confirmed as qualifying for the 2019 World Aquabike Championships in Pontevedra, Spain.
