MALVERN Triathlon Club’s Jim Hancox tackled one of his toughest challenges.
In sunny but bitterly cold conditions, the Midlands Air Ambulance paramedic competed alongside 75 others in the Ludlow-based Mortimer Madness Trail half-marathon.
Coming 17th in two hours 14 minutes 50 seconds, Hancox described it as “one of the toughest half-marathons I have ever completed”.
Testing his fitness, lungs and legs to the limit, he traversed woodland and hills.
In Peopleton, five club members competed in the popular short and long distance duathlon.
There were four-mile and two-mile runs and an 18-mile bike section or two two-mile runs and a nine-mile bike section.
In the short distance, Abi Senior was third woman in 1.01.42.
Tim Day clocked 1.33.26 in the long distance while Malachi Cashmore did 1.33.48, Rhys Humm 1.44.28 and Wesley Ogden 1.47.04.
