WELLAND began a run of eight fixtures in 17 days with a sparkling 6-1 victory at Sherborne Harriers.
A through-ball from Andy Brannelly allowed James Lush to open the scoring in the fourth minute.
Five minutes later, a poor backpass beat the onrushing keeper to make it 2-0 and then Rob Kelly crashed the ball home after Mark Taylor’s rasping free-kick was parried.
An error from keeper Niall Hacking gifted Sherborne a goal but a mazy run from Welland’s Matt Tedds took him past four defenders and led to a cool finish before half-time.
Lush continued his scoring form in the second period as Welland put on their best passing display of the season.
Rory Matthews’ fine shot completed the scoring and lifted them to fourth in the table with games in hand.
They also defeated Smiths Athletic Reserves 3-0 in mid-week with Lush and Tedds (2) both on target.
