Droitwich Panthers u10s 1, Newtown Sports Juniors u10s 4.

NEWTOWN Sports Juniors visited Droitwich Panthers after a lengthy spell without a game.

Both sides enjoyed plenty of possession early on, with the sticky conditions making it difficult to get the ball rolling.

Juniors took the lead through a well-taken Bromage penalty, after an instinctive handball from a Droitwich defender.

Bromage doubled the lead when he finished off his terrific maisy run from deep within his own half.

The visitors created many more half-chances, with R Smith and Brookes playing well.

However, Droitwich grabbed one back on the stroke off half-time when some indecision by the Juniors allowed the ball to go under the hapless A Smith.

In the second-half, Juniors played some great football and increased their lead.

Some great build-up play by Betteridge, Bromage and Elmes set-up Phillips to score from close-range. Winslow finished off well when put through by Betteridge.

Malvern Town Wanderers Juniors u11s 4, St John’s Colts United u11s 4.

THIS was top against bottom but unbeaten St John’s found Malvern in determined form.

The visitors took an early lead against the run of play.

However, Malvern equalised when Matt Cole set up Billy Coleman.

The hosts fell behind again but Coleman fired home his second after a great move involving Megan Jones and Jordan Roan.

In the second-half, Malvern stormed ahead as Coleman completed his hat-trick.

This was before he was involved in the move that finished with Cole adding a fourth.

St John’s fought back to add their third before going on to equalise.

Both sides had chances to win it and keeper Ryan Cowell kept Malvern in the game with two saves.
